EQUILISER

EQUILISER is a powder complementary feed for horses to help them to better cope with unwanted behaviour. EQUILISER contains organically linked magnesium, B-complex vitamins as well as the essential amino acid L-tryptophan, which as a precursor of serotonin can have calming effects on the horse’s organism.

·       L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid and an important precursor of serotonin. Within this function it can have a calming effect on the entire nervous system. Serotonin acts as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and peripheral nerves. L-tryptophan can support the ability to focus and therefore help horses to cope with unfamiliar situations in a more comfortable way.

·       Magnesium is known as an important neural factor, and if in sufficient supply, it also can prevent the release of stress hormones in the body. Overall challenging situations can increase the magnesium requirement substantially. The physiological requirement for magnesium can only be met temporarily from metabolic reserves and therefore should be supplemented on a regularly basis especially in high performance horses. 

·       B-complex vitamins can positively influence the metabolism of nerve cells and are important for the synthesis of chemical neurotransmitters. B vitamins are one of the most important building bricks for the nerve pathways and also play an important role in the formation of chemical neurotransmitters for the transmission of nerve signals between 2 nerve cells. By providing sufficient B vitamins, the transmission of nerve stimuli as well as the smooth functioning of the entire nerve tissue can thus be optimized, which in combination with magnesium and tryptophan can have an overall positive effect on the horse’s nervous system.

COMPOSITION

Dextrose, Lactose, Magnesium fumarate 13.5 %. Additives/kg: Amino acids and salts: L-Tryptophan (3c440) 100000 mg. Vitamins and pro-vitamins: Vitamin B1 (Thiamine mononitrate) (3a821) 7500 mg, Niacinamide (3a315) 5000 mg, Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine hydrochloride-3a831) 3300 mg. Preservatives: Sorbic acid (1a200) 4000 mg. Analytical constituents: Crude protein 14.5 %, Crude ash 12 %, Moisture 12 %, Ash insoluble in HCl 11.2 %, Magnesium 1.3 %, Sodium 0.75 %, Crude fibre 0.4 %, Crude fat 0.3 %.

ADMINISTRATION

Adult horses (500 kg): 20 g / day
Ponies: 10 g / day
To be mixed with feed for a duration of 2 to 4 weeks. Start to administer at least 2 days prior to an unusual event. The simultaneous use of different organic acids or their salts is contraindicated where one or more of them is used at or near the maximum permitted content.
